Learn how to create a separate classroom for Support Teachers or Service Providers
Additional classrooms can now be created in the Dashboard in order for service providers or support staff to view student data for only those students that they are working with. As an example, students who are receiving additional instruction from an interventionist might be added to a secondary Classroom called "First Grade MTSS," so that the interventionist providing support can view the data for those particular students. First, add the Support Teacher or Service Provider as a User (Teacher):
- From the District View, click on the Users tab
- Click on "+ Create User"
- Complete the User's name, email address and role
- Click on "Create"
*Once you have created a new User, the system will send an automated email with log-in instructions to that User.
To create a Separate Classroom:
- From the District View, click on the "Schools" tab
- Click on the School you want to edit
- Click on "+ Create Classroom"
- Enter the name of the Classroom, and add any teachers that belong to that Classroom *Teachers must first be entered as Users when adding them to their Classrooms.
Note: Do not delete the original, or homeroom, Classroom. This will function as a separate, additional Classroom.
To add students to an additional Classroom:
- From the Classroom view, click on the student you would like to add
- Use the gray pencil icon to edit the student information
- Click on the "Classroom" field, and add an additional Classroom name
- Click on the "Save" button to update this information.
**The student data will now be displayed in both the original class and the additional class.
Note: Students in a separate, additional Classroom will only be listed once in school-wide reports, under their original homeroom Classroom.
