Learn how to restart, pause, skip instructions, and more using our hidden Cogwheel.
If you have experience with our EarlyBird assessment, you may have noticed a cogwheel that is slightly hidden in the top left corner of the gameboard. This cogwheel provides you with a few useful functions that might be helpful during the assessment.
Restart:
This allows you to restart a subtest from the beginning, if needed.
Skip Instructions:
This allows you to skip the introduction that is provided at the beginning of the subtest. Skipping the instructions is not recommended for students taking the assessment for the first time. However, if you are repeating a subtest for any student, you might determine that they do not need to hear the introduction again.
Pause:
This button allows you to pause the intro video for the student and then resume when you are ready. Please note that the pause button does NOT pause the assessment. There is a 30-second maximum for oral response recordings after that the student will be automatically moved to the next question.
Gameboard:
This allows you to return to the main gameboard during any subtest. Please note that if you return to the gameboard before the completion of the subtest, that particular subtest will still show up on the gameboard as incomplete.
